Ed Shay is an American Painter, Sculptor, and Printmaker. Having presided as Emeritus Professor of Art at Southern Illinois University for 40 years, he retired from SIU in 2015 and now resides outside of Chicago where his studio is located.
Ed has over 50 years of experience in the world of art. He is known for his printmaking, painting and sculpture. His watercolors, oils, and cast bronze sculptures have been displayed all over the country.
He holds an MFA from the University of Illinois and has received three NEA Artists Fellowships - one in Printmaking, one in Painting, and one in works on paper, and three Illinois Arts Council Artists Fellowships.
He has been a visiting artist in numerous institutions throughout the U.S. as well as internationally and is represented by Roy Boyd Gallery in Chicago, IL.
Ed's paintings consist of amazing detail and is truly remarkable work. He continues to be well renowned in the painting world.
